What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial release is a type of manual therapy used to release tension in the muscles and work out soft tissue restriction which may be inhibiting normal movement and function due to pain. Fascia is a type of tissue in the body which connects our bones, muscles, and joints.

The technique involves deeper, localized pressure to the affected area or where a trigger point is located or tension is being experienced. Longer durations holding over the painful spot may be indicated to get the tissue to release.
