Physical therapy services are provided for the following conditions:

o   Temporomandibular joint dysfunction/ Orofacial pain

o   Orofacial myofunctional disorders (link to list below of all OMDs)

o   Neck pain/Whiplash injury

o   Headache/Migraine

Programming is designed to address your impairment or injury specifically with a collaboration between you and your therapist. We aim to help you meet your personal goals so that you may return to your full active lifestyle.

Our focus is centered around improving joint health and mobility, reducing soft tissue restriction, and improving strength and function through the use of exercise programs, hands on manual treatment, and the use of dry needling.

Why do we only treat these conditions?

Specialized knowledge in these conditions help us focus on fine tuning our care to address these often-overlooked issues. While many providers claim to work with these diagnoses, they often see about 20+ other conditions such as lower back, hip, knee, and ankle pain. Having a provider who specializes in TMJ dysfunction and orofacial pain can give you confidence knowing that they have dedicated time, effort, and continuing education so they can provide you with the best, individualized care.

Getting to the root cause

Ultrasound, electrical stimulation, massages, and ice/heat packs all sound lovely when managing pain. But that is all they do. They function as temporary fixes to cover up a pain stimulus but do not address the underlying cause of the problem going on.

One of our primary goals in treatment is achieved through the assessment where we identify the root cause of your symptoms. Much of traditional therapy is helping you manage your symptoms for short durations, however, this does not help you address your issue in the long term and just “helps you get by”. Identifying the reason for your clenching and grinding or the dysfunctional muscles around your jaw or neck is going to give us what we need to develop a program that will target the root cause of your issue.

In person therapy offered locally in the Tampa Bay area. If you are located within the state of Florida, but out of driving distance, virtual can be a great option to address these conditions.
